It’s the coward’s way out.

I specifically titled the dream because of the outcome. The meaning has to do with someone who injured me emotionally. I’m to face the person and expose the emotional damage, but right now I’m not ready or willing.

Saturday, January 24, 2015; unconscious dreaming
The first thing I noticed was sitting on the earth with my legs tucked up in a crossed position. I was holding an umbrella over my head due to rain somewhere in the woods alone, not sure how I had gotten there. Before I could think back, a stump within a couple of yards drew my attention.

A noise came from the stump that sounded like puppies playing. Every so often, I would catch a glimpse of the backside of one as it jumped. I had the urge to move over to the stump and play with them. When I stretched out my legs, they made a rustling noise against the ground. The two, what I thought were puppies, became silent. A conscious protective sensation came over me, and I remain still and quiet.

I saw a pair of eye’s peek out over the top of the stump and then drop back inside. Whatever they were; they were small and I convinced myself; I had nothing to worry about. Just then two brown and furry creatures leapt from the stump and fell to the ground. As soon as their paws were on the ground they charged toward me. I drop backward to my elbows and lifted my legs, just as they attacked. They were fast, and it was all I could do to kick them away from me. Each kick sent them a number of feet from me, and it only took a second for them to recuperate and dive back on me.

These could not be puppies or even small dogs; they were several times the strength of their size and too fast for me to get a look as to what they really were. The vicious little creatures did not tire, but were wearing me down. I gritted my teeth and kicked back with all I had and awoke seconds later.

A Time Traveled

In case you haven’t noticed, the posting of my dreams has no order, I wish it did. The time I get to write them out is limited and in the meantime, I’m having other dreams so some get placed to the side—then there is the mood I’m in which dictates which one I want to work on. Eventually some will go into limbo.
The following dream is about 4 years old and one of those I jumped back to every so often, somewhere along the way between PCs and formats the date got lost. If you have read my definitions of my dreams, you will see this one has been placed under dreams. This is only because I have no idea what type it was.

In the dream I’m fully aware but unable to control any part other than myself, so it’s not a lucid dream. By our scientific standards, it broke the laws of physics so, maybe not an out-of-body experience. So I placed it in dreams and leave it up to the reader’s imagination.
2011?

The transition between my reality into others is much like waking up. My first awareness is of light or perhaps some sound that gets my attention—in this case, sound. My first thought had been the squealing of many tires, then my body began to feel compressed. The squealing noise dug into my ears, and I had nearly awoken but forced myself to stay. I opened my eyes to a crowd of people packed around me. I was squeezed in so tight and unable to move, I guessed I must be at some event like a concert. My only movement was in my neck that allowed me to at least look up. I could see a roof above me with girders stretching across. The roof could have been no more than 15 feet high. The squealing, I came to realize, was from people. The surrounding faces were in a panic, and the squeals were screams of fear and agony. I pushed up on my toes, so I could see better; we were in some type of warehouse.

I eased further up on my tiptoes as far as I could rise. Staying in that position was not a problem due to the compression of those around me. The warehouse was about 100 feet in diameter. To the far wall in front of me, there seemed to be a gap of about 20 feet. What it was that kept the people from filling it I had no idea. My discomfort was becoming unbearable and along with the noise, I was under pressure to wake up. Something in the corner of the far wall to the left began to move. It was part of the wall raising. The section of the wall was perhaps twenty feet wide like the gap and ten feet high. The wall rolled up like a garage door. On the other side, I briefly thought it was another wall because it sat just inches from the roll up door. As soon as the door came to a stop the wall began to move inward. This caused a greater hysteria in the surrounding people, and the screaming became unbearable. The wall turned out to be a subway train that had sat outside waiting for the door to open.

As the train pulled inside, the surrounding pressure increased as the people in front pushed backward. The train rolled to the opposite wall and came to rest against it. Once the train came to a stop, doors along its side opened. I thought this would make the people happy as they could now enter the cars and release some pressure of those of us in the back row. Instead, they were fighting not to go inside the cars but in front they were forced inside due to the pressure of those of us behind them. Some clung to the side of the door entrances fighting to get back out. Some even climbed over the heads of others. I thought the screaming could not get any louder, but a new wave of panic arose. A gap appeared between the crowd about five feet from the train. It increased, and I saw those on the other side moving in the train. My guess was that a wall had come up and was forcing them into the cars. There were two cars about fifty feet long with wide windows. Through the glass, I could see people packed hard into the cars. The doors closed, and the train reversed back out of the warehouse. Just outside of the door it stopped. The rolled-up door began to descend while the train blocked the exit until the door had closed.

I looked around for an exit of my own but knew from the start if there was one, it would already be in use. People beat on the walls in hopes of finding some weak spot. Others joined in, and there was less pressure on me. With the pressure off me and some room, I, unlike the rest, pushed through the crowd to the back wall. As I leaned against the wall, a click sounded behind me. There was a small vertical seam running along the wall. I ran my fingers long it and felt an edge. The crowd in front had begun pushing against those behind them, and the pressure began to mount on me.

My body was pushed into the wall, and I heard another click and the line was gone. I then knew what it was, a pressure released door. Push and it opened, push again, and it seals. I shifted to the left of where the edge had been. Other bodies took my place and held pressure on the wall. I shouldered the wall, hearing the click, and the edge reappeared. I dug my finger nails into the edge and pulled. The door opened sufficiently to get my fingers inside, and I pulled hard. I could get the door open just enough to slip my body halfway in. Several people screamed in delight as they too saw the opening. I was slammed with pressure, which shoved me completely through. Due to the same pressure the door slammed shut.

I could hear the screams on the other side and knew that the panic from everyone trying to get the door open was, in fact, keeping it closed. I pushed on my side but the pressure from dozens or more bodies pressed against the outer wall was no match for me. I stepped back and looked for anything that could help pry the door open. Around me, was a narrow hall lined with stacked boxes on each side. I went to begin tearing through the boxes, but as soon as I had grabbed one, the screaming outside quickly faded. I looked back to the wall. I stepped up to where the door had been. I saw no outlines or seams. I held my ear against the surface and heard nothing. I tried pushing on the spot I had come through, but nothing moved. I slapped the surface and screamed, “Hello!” I placed my ear on the wall again, nothing.

I turned, looking back down the hall. The hall was still there, but the boxes held a more organized look. I walked down the hall between them toward a door at the end I had not noticed before. It was a plain door with a knob on the left side, when I turned the knob, the door opened. I stepped inside to a dimly lit room. The walls of the room were deep gray and computer banks ran along the wall beginning and ending just feet from each side of the door. The room was only about twenty-five to thirty feet in diameter. The computer banks ranged in height from four to six feet. Steady and blinking lights filled their surface along with screens here and there. To the left of me about the nine o’clock position stood a man in what looked to be early twentieth-century clothing. The man was jotting something down on a clipboard and seemed to be in deep thought; he had not even noticed me coming inside.

I closed the door which made a minuscule click but because the room itself was near silent the click made a small echo, startling the man. He jerked as though hit with an electric jolt and spun to face me. He nearly dropped the clipboard as he stammered out,
“Who are you?” he let out in a quick snap. “How did you get in here?” he added. I decided to answer his second question first. I turned a bit and glanced at the door.

“The door,” I answered him.

“That’s impossible!” he shouted, “That door is dead bolted from inside here,” I turned back to the door and searched for the deadbolt.

“There is no deadbolt,” I informed him. “Matter of fact,” I said while still looking at the door, ” there are no locks at all, even on the knob.” He rushed toward me. I thought he was on the attack and stepped to the side as he came head on but he stepped by me and up to the door. He inspected the door just above the knob.
“This should not have happened. This room including the door is in the neutral zone.”

“Well those people out there are in a panic and need help,” I told him. “Can you help them or are you causing their problem?”

“What people?” he asked.

“At the other end of the hall, in that warehouse,” I raised my voice at him.

“Warehouse?” he asked, surprised. “There’s nothing out there but dessert.”

I did not know what he was talking about but my concern was the warehouse full of people.

“We have to help those people,” I told him.

“What people? What are you talking about?” he asked.

I stepped over and pulled the door open and pointed out.
“There!” I glanced down the hall and was stunned.

The hall was replaced by the great outdoors. The outer door and frame had small leafy vines growing over the surface. Beyond the door, a wide-open expanse of field and trees grew sporadically. I stood stunned by the sight in front of me. My left hand held my balance against the door, but suddenly the door slipped out of my grip, and I nearly stumbled. The door slammed hard and the man screamed out, “This is a controlled environment.” I looked into his reddened face, only inches from mine. “I don’t know who you are or how you managed to get in here but, keep your hands off everything and do not open that door again.” He snapped the pointer finger of his right hand at the door while staring me in the face. He turned and rushed back to his console.

“There were people in some sort of trouble, an entire warehouse full of them,” I spoke out to him.

“Obviously they no longer exist,” he replied, his eyes never leaving the console screen.

He never gave my comment a second thought and went back to study his panel. Now that I looked, his anxiety seemed to be more on his work than my being there.

“What exactly is going on?” I asked.

“I’m a Chronologist. I’ve been able to create an existing path between the past, present and future. That computer,” he pointed to the six feet high box to the right of me, “bounces anything inside this cavern from the past to the future. The cavern has gone unchanged in the past millions of years to the far future. That way I can travel through time without effecting anything. However,” he snapped impatiently, “my established boundaries are somehow moving.”

As I watched him, his suit began to change. It went from the black overcoat, black pants and white shirt to a light-blue shirt and gray pants. When I looked at his face, it too had changed. His facial hair was gone, and his hair was several shades lighter. Although the cave itself stayed the same, the computers and panels changed shapes and places. Some vanished while others appeared in different places around the room.

“You’re changing the flow of time and the evolution of your world,” I informed him.
“What are you talking about? Nothing has changed.” Without looking at me, he tapped the graph on the display in front of him. “This cave is a neutral zone, that’s why I choose it.”

“The cave isn’t changing, you and your equipment are,” I told him.

“That’s ridiculous,” he said. While making the comment his hair went blond and his body trimmed down as his height gained more than two inches. “I’m the same as I’ve always been,” he finished.
I was going to make a comment on his appearance change again but it would not help. He was making small changes in the past which effected his body and mind while I was the observer.

“Are you changing?” he asked sarcastically. I knew it really was not a question but I answered him just the same.

“No, because I’m not from this time line or dimension. Changes here won’t affect me.”

“Then leave!” he demanded. “You are disturbing me and my work.”

In the time it took him to speak the sentence, his form shrank down to about five feet tall. His waist line increased greatly, and his face became fat, wrinkled and red like an alcoholic. His clothes became a suit that looked as if he had been wearing it for days.

“The only changes here are the equipment and the debris I cleaned out.” As he was stating this his waist slimmed and his face narrowed. His skin turned a light tan color. Along with his look, his demeanor calmed. The suit went to a two piece toga.

“What debris?” I asked. His attention went from his display to me and he explained patiently as his demeanor changed. “Just rocks covering the floor,” he said and went back to monitoring the displays.

A thought came to me. “Where did the rocks come from?”

He looked at me. “From the cave roof of course.” Before he could turn his gaze from me, I hit him with another question.

“How?” I asked.

“Age, tremors, earthquakes. It could have been a number of causes. What would that have to do with anything. The cavern has been here for millions of years.”

“That’s right. Also, you have had the computer here for millions of years. Just think about all the tremors and earthquakes it has gone through. All your equipment is sitting on hard ground. That would put a lot of stress on electronics being shaken up.”

The stones that made up the cavern suddenly seemed to swell. As the surfaces expanded they flowed over the computers and panels that made up the lab. The screens went dead and the man let out a scream.

“No!” he shouted. As he screamed, his form shrunk down to about four feet tall. His skin became a leathery brown and his clothing changed over to something like a gray jumpsuit.

“Get out!” he yelled at me as he ran past. I took notice that his new form also had his arms and legs the same length. As he ran, he had dropped to all fours and sped past galloping. I followed him outside. Once we were clear of the cave, we came to a stop and turned. The entrance was gone, and nothing remained of the existence of the cave. Before us was nothing but a sheer high cliff. There came a small high-pitched voice behind us, and we turned together.

Another small being resembling the Chronologist stood looking at us. The Chronologist said something back in the same high-pitched tone. The two began chatting back and forth but in some language I could not understand. The Chronologist waved his short arms at the wall, and I knew he was explaining all that had transpired. I left the two and went to explore this world.
The sun was very bright and of a strong white color. The sky was a milky white and may be had the slightest touch of blue. The cliff where the cave was stretched from horizon to horizon. The land I stood on was flat as far as I could see. I could tell all of it had been level at one time but either the part I stood on had sunken or the cliff had risen.

The flat land looked more like a dying orchard of short stocky bushes holding old looking fruit. Strange machines floated motionless three feet off the ground. To my right, one was an old tanker that may have held water. Its surface and lower nozzle covered in rust. Open cavities which once held hoses had rotted away. I walked over to it. The tank may have been around a 1,000-gallon capacity and was mounted on a large one inch thick metal plate. All the machines seem to be mounted to a similar plate. This may have been some material that caused it to maintain a floating height of three feet from the ground. I gave the tanker a small push, and the vessel moved with ease. After it moved away from my hand, it glided for a couple of yards and came to a slow smooth stop.

Not too far off hovered another piece of equipment. This looked like the arm of an excavator. The arm, like the tank, was set on a plate. The base of the arm sat inside a bowel that held the round joint of the arm. This would have allowed the arm 360 radii while also allowing for up and down movement. The base arm extended up about ten feet and met the fore arm at another elbow. The fore arm was about twelve feet long and hung down away from the base at 45 degrees. The end of the arm held a three limb claw. The tips look as if they would be used for plowing while the grip was small enough to pick or plant crops. Even with the weight of the arm extended beyond the edge of the plate, the plate had no tilt.

I heard a commotion back toward the cliff wall. I turned and saw the chronologist prying off the panel of what looked to be some strange tractor. It was a simple square looking box with a seat on top. The seat and controls sat on a pedestal which again was all mounted in the plate. The being we had encountered was jumping up and down chatting loudly. Once he grabbed the chronologist’s arm and tried to pull him away. The chronologist just pushed him away. I guessed the chronologist had been looking for resources in order to rebuild his time machine. Darkness fell quickly over me and when I looked around, I was in my bed. The dream came to an end.

Dropping off chaos

Monday, December 29, 2014; Storyline

I seemed to be in my astral body floating freely in space. The scene before me was a bright orange and red nebula, a heavens-filling collage of fiery colors in reds, yellows and oranges. The intense brightness was surrounded by a vast amount of faded blues, purples and blackness. Stars of all sizes filled the sky both in and around the nebula. Even in its stillness, no pictures could ever do it justice.

Although I seemed to be bodiless I felt my heart beating rapidly against my chest. Anxiety tried to overwhelm me and I had to breathe to counter is affects. As I stared into the brightness I began to pick out small specks in the lower part. These looked like well formed black X’s and plus signs. The more I stared, the more I could see others appearing in the background.

While new specks were showing up, the older ones grew in size and length. As they grew, they ascended; I then realized they were moving my way. Thousands filled the sky and took on a new more understandable appearance—they were star-ships, all similar in their main body, crossed-sectioned. They soon passed by me, all of a dull zinc color and the size of large ocean-going vessels. Others followed, up two to three times as large.

Thousands passed as thousands more drifted from the now hidden nebula. Looking back to where they were coming from, one spot caught my attention. Like the others it held the crossed main body style but even at the distance I could tell it was massive. It soon blocked out the nebula and everything in front of me. The diameter had to be hundreds or more miles wide. Hundreds or more of the other ships flew next to it but all of them together could not match the mass of this one ship. The stretch of the ship was more than my mind could comprehend and while the front had passed from my view, the rear was yet in sight.

Before the rear of the ship came into view I felt a pulling sensation on my head, suddenly my view changed to a large room with a man stepping away from me. A helmet he was holding blocked his face until he sat it down on a desk. I then realized the helmet had been on me and he had pulled it off.

“Did you see?” he asked, directing the question to me.

“The ships? Yes, who are they?”

“They are coming to help us,” he answered.

“We have so many problems, which one are they helping us with?”

“All of them, follow me,” he said.

He led me from the large room to a smaller one perhaps twelve by twelve feet. The floor of the room was covered in what looked to be smooth light brown balls from grapefruit size down to BB sized or smaller. From the door where we stood was a path down the middle of the room to another door on the other side. The balls had been swept to each side and piled up along the walls about five feet high. I bent down and picked up one of the larger ones. It was soft like a sponge and a bit sticky; when I squeezed the ball it crumbled apart like dry dough. I understood then why they could stay stacked at an angle without rolling back to the middle of the floor.

“What is this stuff?” I asked.

“Whatever we need it to be,” he responded. “Placing it into the 3-D printers, we can make building materials for everything, from homes to cars. It can also be made into any fuel we need without the CO2 and other pollutants. It will even bring an end to world hunger because we can process it as any food we want, be it vegetable or meat.”

“There doesn’t seem like enough here,” I mentioned.

“It’s not,” he replied, “this is just a sampling. The largest ship you saw is the vat ship. It grows the cargo between worlds.

“So they will be making regular runs to earth, dropping off this stuff?” I asked.

“No, it’s a one time drop. They will then grow more while going on to the next world.”

“I can see that massive ship holding enough to do all you say, once they distribute it but even with its size, it could only supply a few years worth.”

“They won’t be distributing, they will be dropping off. You see, what they have is a single item, a sea creature.”

“So these sea creatures will breed in our oceans?”

“No, as I said, there’s only one. The vat ship grows the animal which is just as large as the ship.”
I was stunned at his reply.

“That’s impossible! That ship had to be hundreds of miles long and nearly a hundred or more wide,” I exclaimed.

“The ship is much longer than you think—as for the creature, it’s well over a thousand miles long and just over one hundred miles wide,” he assured me.

“Isn’t that going to have a huge effect on the ocean? How are we supposed to catch something that size?” I had many other questions running through my mind but luckily he cut me off and explained.

“The creature doesn’t have any mind or nervous system. Although it is an animal, it lives more like a fungus. We’ll use sonar to lure the thing until it beaches itself miles off shore. Then countries can begin carving off what they need to live on. The creature will absorb its nutrition from the ocean which in turn regenerates itself.”

“Still, something that large will have to have an impact on the ocean,” I commented.

“No worse than what we’re doing. This will stop the depletion of life in water and land and we’ll never have to pump out oil or cut down forest.”

Before I could say anything else, the already gray sky began to darken even more. I watched out a large bay window at the low clouds hanging over the ocean. They started to bulge heavily from horizon to horizon. Something was pushing through, so large that the clouds could not move past fast enough and seem to be squished into the ocean waters. At first I thought the lab we were in was sinking but then it came to me that the ocean was swelling. Like the clouds, the water displacement had not been quick enough and the bulge turned into a massive tidal-wave. I began to panic and backed away from the window.

“Don’t worry,” the man said, “this isn’t just a lab but a ship. I built it just for this.”

I watched as the tidal wave washed over the shore and swept us up. I grabbed onto a table as the room tilted and suddenly rose up the wave. We bobbed through the water then when I looked over to the man, there were controls and a wheel used for guiding the lab or ship. I moved back over to the window next to the man. The room still had a tilt and I could see that we were riding the tidal-wave. The wave must have been two-hundred feet high or more, but above it was a wall of alternating bronze and dark brown that ran from left to right until it curved out of sight. The top rose just above the tidal wave several hundred feet and curved back to the horizon.

“Here’s what you’re looking at,” said the man. He pointed to a monitor over to my right, hanging head high. At first I thought I was looking at a snake swimming through the water, but then I realized it was the alien creature. The picture was not pulled back far enough to see the entire being but I could see the head and part of its main body. It had a strong resemblance to Coast garter snake although the earth version has a green head, this creature had the orange and black colors and patterns from its head down the body. As its body slowly moved laterally in wave-like movements, each ripple it produced was a tidal wave.

I thought about the impact this was going to have on the coastal residents and wondered if people had been forewarned.

“Have the coast lines been evacuated?” I asked.

“No one has. I did not want the big corporations to get wind of this and try to shut me down,” he said.

“But people need to know about the tidal-waves and the military is going to flip out once they see this thing in the water,” I yelled at him.

He stayed calm and kept his focus on the creature and staying ahead of the tidal-wave. “The aliens disabled the military on every continent before they left. Right now my only concern is having the creature follow us so we can beach it along the coast.”

With the military gone and coast lines being hit by floods possibly miles into areas, the impact on world society was going to be devastating. This one man had made a judgment call that was going to place the world in chaos. It now dawned on me that the world would be coming to him for their needs since he had the only printer that could reconstruct the alien creature’s meat, for the world’s needs.

I turned and ran to the front of the ship out onto the open deck. I was hoping I could find land or a ship where I’d be able to contact someone that could help. Outside we were still sliding down the ever lasting tidal wave in front of the creature. It was only water and clouds as far as I could see and I stood there until I awoke.

Toady

During this night, I had three separate dreams, all on the same subject. My subconscious is pushing hard to get a message across.

Saturday, December 6, 2014
First dream;
I was starring in a comedy that ran two seasons, surprised in the dream that it lasted one episode. The show was about construction workers, mainly crane operators. As a half-hour comedy, the show aired for two seasons.
One day between shots, a co-star approached me. “I heard this is the last episode— we’ve been canceled.”
I had been leaning against an engine prop of a crane and shrugged my shoulders.
“I’m not surprised. I didn’t even expect the show to go past its pilot. I never thought it was that funny to begin with so, I’ve been preparing myself for this since then.”
I could tell he was upset over the news. The break ended and we returned to the set.

Second dream;
I was asleep in the bed when my phone rang, I looked over at the clock to see—it was 2:00 am.
“Hello,” I answered groggily. I heard my co-worker’s voice from the the other end.
“Hey William, does Virginia have toads?”
“Toads? You mean like frogs?”
“Yeah. I’m looking for a toad,” he said.
“Who’s calling so early?” my wife asked.
“A co-worker,” I informed her. She shook her head and got out of bed heading to the bathroom. I continued the conversation with my co-worker.
“Why are you asking?”
“I want a toad for a pet. Where can I find one?” he asked.
I could not believe he had awakened me for this; he sounded sober.
“Around creeks, ponds and ditches,” I snapped.
“Great, thank you!” he said excitedly and hung up. I set the phone down and went back to sleep.

Third dream;
I was carrying a five-gallon aquarium across the yard. Inside, I set up a terrarium for a toad and five of its tadpoles. The water sloshed around and suddenly all the tadpoles were propelled out. They fell into the grass, and I set the tank down in hopes of finding them. After some delicate searching, I found each one and replaced it back into the tank.

Being on TV suggests that there is something I want to broadcast to the whole world to express myself, (my blog)
A co-worker in my dream (that is not my coworker in life), pertains to some psychological business that I need to work on. (opening up more)
To see and hear the telephone (my subconscious) signifies I need to listen to a message. My co-worker, in this case real, places my focus on the subject (the toad).
A “toad” suggests that I am hiding my true self and should be obligated to opening up more to my audience. The tadpoles mean that I have not reached my full potential, keeping them all in an aquarium avoids changes, repeating or just running in circles. “Five” represents my need to take a new path. Spilling the tadpoles, (freed) and finding the slippery critters, “Don’t let this opportunity slip through your hands.”
In a nutshell: the message is directed to the part of “expandurmind” my followers see of me, a general audience, cautious, kind of guy. To really make myself and my blog grow, I need to expose the psychological darker side of my dreams, out-of-body experiences and me.

One

The following dream is a good representation of my current life. I’ve broken down the meaning at the end.

Sunday, December 4, 2015

I was standing in the office of a former employer hoping to get hired back into the company. He handed me a photograph of an airport, the type that only allowed the flights of small planes. The background was thick with trees and the on the side closest was a field of green grass. From the camera’s view I could just see the long stretch of concrete that made up the runway. At the top corner of the page was scrawled $75,000.

“I need you to go look at this job and tell me if we can replace the runway for that amount,” my former boss said.

“Where is it?” I asked.

“Just go out to the road here,” he pointed to the door outside, “and follow it. It goes right by the airport. If you get me the information back by the end of the day you have the job.”

I handed the photograph back to him and left his office. It was early morning, and the sun had yet to rise. I walked over to my car which had a bicycle hooked onto the back. Since I had become such a health nut, I decided it would be better and more fun to ride the bike out to the site and take a look.

The bicycle had one wheel like a unicycle; however, attached between the seat and wheel was a bar that stretched out in front and curved upwards leading to a set of handlebars. I hopped on the seat and began peddling down the road, briefly battling to get the bike stable.

Once I had the bike in control I began to take in my surroundings. Even though it was dark I could still see quite a few yards around me. The road was smooth and narrow, lined with trees on the left and right, although the trees to the right were set further off from the road where there were some homes and small businesses. The sound of something bouncing through the woods to my left caused me to stop. Soon a deer jumped out into the middle of the road, spotting me; it came to a stop and stared to see what I was going to do. I was more shocked than the deer because of its deformity. The deer which, I soon saw was an antelope, had a normal head and small horns but a tiny body connected to a single leg in the middle of its torso.

Seconds after it had stopped, the antelope continued across the road to the right, bounding away on that single leg. Across the street was a small store, still closed, that the antelope ran down to. At the back of the store grew a short field of grass up to the trees. The antelope stopped at the edge of the grass and collapsed. He curled the single leg up under himself and rested. I stood there in the road staring at the animal, wondering how it could survive.

I had a job to do so I continued biking on down the road, leaving the antelope behind. Some time passed and daylight filled the sky. I was enjoying the biking, the solitude and the environment I was traveling through to the point that I had not realized it was late afternoon. I began to panic, wondering if I had passed the site, and hoping someone could give me directions, I stopped at a small convenience store to my right.

In the parking lot a mother and daughter were coming out of the store. I pulled up next to their car as they were getting in and asked if they knew where I could find the airport. The mother informed me that I had passed it many miles back. My job depended on my getting the information back to my boss that afternoon. By the time I could get back to the job site, my company’s office would be closed. I would have to make up the time by biking back as fast as possible.

I was just about to take off when I heard a couple voices calling, “Daddy” from behind. I turned to see my two sons, who are adults now, but in the dream were around five years of age. I explained to them what I had to do, and we needed to hurry back. My so-called hurrying was moving only as fast as my slowest son.

After a short time both began to whimper about the tiredness of their small legs trying to keep up. Both could not ride on the bike with me, so I figured I could carry one on my back at a time, allowing him to rest and then switch out every so often.

Coming to a stop, I realized I had my backpack on. I knew then it would be impossible to carry either one of them. I walked the bike and the boys to the side of the road, and we sat down in the grass to rest. I knew that by the time I got back to my car it would be late evening and my chances of getting the job were zero. My sons lay down in the grass one on each side of me and fell asleep. Soon after I awoke.

Defining the dream
Everything in an unconscious dream is a symbol to the clue of that dreams meaning. Every symbol also has several answers. How do you know which to choose from? Think of it as a mental puzzle. There are multiple on-line dream dictionaries, I just happen to like, dreammoods.com and use it 90% of the time. If I cannot find an answer there, I use dreamhawk.com and/or curiousdreamer.com.

I actually copy and paste the entire meaning of the dream. Then I go through each line and delete those that are not in my personality or have nothing to do with the current dream and keep what corresponds to the other symbols of that dream; it does take some time. If you have the patience to read through, the meaning of this dream and its breakdown (in order) is below. Regular print is copy and paste, edited from dreammoods.com. Italics in parentheses are my notes.

To stay true to my audience, I’m not being totally forthcoming in defining this dream. A few meanings I kept out because they are very personal, and I’m not ready or wanting to divulge them here.

Work- Dreaming that you are at your former work suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to your current situation.

Photograph- To see a photograph in your dream means that you are clinging on to some false hope. Consider who or what is on the photo. The image may be trying to take you back to a particular moment in time. (The airport in the photo was one my parents lived by when I was 14. Check out my editorial in, “Day of the dragonfly”).

Numbers-To see numbers in your dream symbolize that you need to evaluate a situation more thoroughly. Numbers also carry much personal significance to only you.

(always break numbers down, 75,000)
7- The number seven may also refer to the seven chakras (I need to be more in tune with my energies).

5- The umber five may reflect a change in your path or that you need to alter your course.

0- Zero symbolizes emptiness. You are experiencing a void in your life. Your actions have been counterproductive.

(add up each digit of numbers)
7+5+0+0+0+0= 12
12- Represents cycles and repetition.

1+2=3- Three signifies life, vitality, inner strength, completion, imagination, creativity, energy, self-exploration and experience. (a good description of my energies)

1- Signifies solitude or loneliness. (The one road I traveled, the bike with one wheel, the Antelope with one leg).

Bicycle- (the reason I called this a bicycle and not a unicycle, is due to it had handlebars). To dream that you are riding a bicycle signifies your desires to attain a balance in your life. You need to balance work and pleasure in order to succeed in your current undertakings. If you have difficulties riding the bicycle, (one wheel) then it suggests that you are experiencing anxieties. You need to devote time to leisurely pursuits and recreation.

Road- (this fits the description of the road in my dream). To see a road in your dream refers to your sense of direction and how you are pursuing your goals. If the road is dark, then it reflects the controversial or more frightening choices which you have made or are making. If the road is smooth and bordered by trees or flowers, then it denotes a steady progress and steady climb up the social ladder. If the road is straight and narrow, then it means that your path to success is going as planned. To see an unknown road in your dream represents a path that has not been ventured. You are setting a new precedence for something.

Antelope- To see an antelope in your dream suggests that your high ambitions will only be achieved through a great expenditure of energy, (the 7 chakras). You will experience much success as a result of your dedication.

Children- To dream that your own grown children are still very young indicates that you still see them as young and dependent. You want to feel needed and significant.

Entangled

“To see or become entangled in power-lines represents your struggle for power or empowerment. You are experiencing an obstacle toward your goal.” -dreammoods.com

I was on a job site on a clear blue day with my youngest son Daniel, who had recently picked up a job as a crane operator. It had been several years since he had been in a crane and he asked me to come out to give him a refresher course. When I arrived on the job, I saw that the crane was a 50 ton all-terrain Grove.
He informed me that the crane had just been delivered and was sitting in the spot where he would be operating it. Immediately I saw that the crane was under multiple high-power-lines.

“You can’t operate any crane that close to power-lines, not without a cage around the boom or the lines de-energized,” I told him.

“They have been de-energized, there’s no juice going through them at all,” he responded.

The superintendent approached and told Daniel he needed to come to his office and fill out some paperwork. While Daniel left to fill out his paperwork, I walked over and set up the crane. I wanted to get a feel for how it ran in case there were any glitches that I wanted Daniel to be aware of.

With the crane up on outriggers, I scoped out the boom a few feet and then boomed up. I swung the crane around but within a couple of degrees it seemed sluggish and came to a stop. I looked up and became terrified; I had allowed the boom to become entangled in the overhead power-lines. I quickly began manipulating the boom up and down, back and forth and anything else to release me from the lines.

The more I tried, the more entangled the tip of the boom became; eventually the lines became taut and began snapping from the pole. I shook my head and could not believe what I had done. I was a professional and had done something that most amateurs would never have gotten themselves into. I knew the damage would have to be repaired and decided to move the crane from the spot and at least clean the lines off the tip of the boom. I put in the outriggers and began moving the crane across the job away from the pole. Part way across I realized I had made yet another mistake: I had not scoped in the boom nor lowered it.

The crane was now top heavy and began to sway back and forth; before I could bring it to a stop, I had crossed into a deep rut in the ground to my right, and quickly the crane toppled to that side. In those same moments, thoughts of causing hundreds of thousands of dollars damage to the crane, power-lines and the site crossed my mind, not to mention destroying my career and my son’s chance to get a job. The collapse of the crane was what woke me.

Pipeline

There are things that irritate me; one of them is my memory of some dreams. For example, the following dream I had was very detailed and intense. I know there was far more but I can only recall the last couple of minutes. I’m even unable to recall what type of dream, so I will leave that blank.

Thursday, December 4, 2014; defining my dreams
What I did recall is a black-and-white dream, very rare for me because I always dream in color. Twin girls, brunettes, in the mid thirties maybe. Both identical with their thick frizzy hair, height of about 5′ 6” and around 140 pounds. The three of us were standing in a kitchen while clearing the table just after a meal. We were discussing all the planets and systems we had been visiting recently, which actually had occurred in the dream, one of many parts I do not recall. One of the girls said she was looking forward to visiting Jupiter.

“The pipeline will be opening anytime; we can go then,” said the other. “Will you be going with us?” she asked me.

“No,” I replied, “I have to get ready for work.”

Just then an empty wall on one side of the kitchen became transparent and formed an open portal. On the other side, which seemed to be pretty close, was the planet Jupiter. It was so close, I could only discern the planet because of its red storm. The two women stepped inside the portal on a ledge 4 feet wide. Clasping hands together, their bodies stretched outwardly floating in weightlessness. They continued holding hands as they slowly rotated in a counter-clockwise direction while their bodies gently drifted out into space. No space suits or any other special gear, just tennis shoes, blouses and jeans. I watched until they were only specks, slowly falling down into the gas giant. Just before they were completely out of my vision, the wall replaced the portal and I awoke.

Modern Rocketry

Wednesday night at my house is pizza and comedy night. I bring home a large veggie, with extra tomato sauce from Papa Johns, and the wife and I chill out in front of the television. We watch the comedy line up; In the Middle, The Goldberg’s, Modern Family and Blackish.

So it isn’t surprising that sometimes when my consciousness is relaying a message that some of these characters would show up. Of the four shows, I would relate to Phil Dunphy on Modern Family. For those unaware of the character; (1)Phil Dunphy sees himself as the “cool dad.” He dotes on his wife and constantly tries to find ways to bond with his kids. He has a childlike attitude, very confident and always full of new ideas.

2014/12/10 Wednesday; Unconscious dreaming
It was night time, and I found myself outside with Phil Dunphy a.k.a actor Ty Burrell on Modern Family. He was building a small orange rocket about five feet in length and one foot in diameter. We were putting the three-stage rocket together in his driveway; once it had been completed he directed me to help set it in a frame.

The frame sat in the middle of the driveway, and to each side in the grass were binders and straps. As Phil pulled one of the straps over the front of the rocket, he asked me to do the same on the rear. I cranked down on the binder until the strap was good and tight. I noticed the ground was kind of soft and said something to Phil. He told me not to worry—he did this many times before.

Afterward, I followed him into the grass far left of the driveway. In his hand Phil held a small box with a single button in the middle. He pushed the button, and the rocket fired. The thrust was incredible to the point of the rocket began to bow in the middle. I saw the rear anchor on the far side begin to pull out of the ground. I pointed this out to Phil, who began to get a worried expression on his face.

The thrust became more powerful, and the rear anchor gave way. The front was still tied down, and it flipped over, releasing itself from the frame. The two of us could see right away the rocket was on a trajectory for us.

“IN COMING!” Phil screamed.

We dropped to the ground as the rocket flew over our heads missing us by inches. As the rocket passed we rolled to our backs and sat up. The rocket shot across a road and over a field. Grazing in the field was a large stag with its back toward us. The rocket, staying level with the ground, hit the stag directly in the anus. Without stopping or slowing, it launched the stag across the field and into the woods beyond until out of sight.

“My rocket, my rocket!” Phil yelled.

He leapt up and ran from his yard out into the field in hot pursuit. I followed behind until I was across the road then stopped before entering the field. I turned and walked back toward the house. Just as I got back into the yard, I heard a loud scream of panic. I turned looking in the area of woods Phil had gone. He was now running hard and fast back home, screaming all the while.

Just as he made it to the road, I noticed a lion, twice the size of a normal one, bursting from the woods coming toward us. I turned and began to run for the house in hopes of getting inside. Only yards from the door, Phil passed me slamming into my left shoulder. Although it did not slow him down, he caused me to be knocked to the ground. I scrambled to my feet hearing the breath of the ferocious beast upon me. I had just begun my run back when I was pounced on, awaking me.

If you are new or missed any of my posts, I mentioned before that I was planning on publishing an e-book based on my dreams. The dream here is about the problem I’m running into, mainly the layout of the e-book. The following breakdown of the dream is mostly copy & paste from; dreammoods.com, plus a little editing.

Having a dream that takes place at night represents some obstacles in achieving your goals. You are being faced with an issue that is not so clear cut.

An actor represents your pursuit for pleasure. Consider also who this actor is and what characteristics you associate with him.

The rocket indicates that your plans or ideas will soon be taking off in a big way. You are experiencing a higher level of awareness. All your hard work is paying off.

Orange denotes hope, friendliness, courtesy, generosity, liveliness, sociability, and an out-going nature.

To dream that you are tying something represents your network and connection to others.

Depending on the context of your dream, the stag could mean grace, agility, regeneration and growth.
Seeing only the tail of an animal in your dream signifies annoyances and complications in a situation where pleasure was expected.

A lion symbolizes great strength, courage, aggression and power. You will overcome your difficulties.

Consistency

I was unable to determine when I awoke if I had had a dream or out-of-body experience. Once I broke it down, I realized it was an unconscious dream, my subconscious trying to relay a message. A few weeks ago I had written an editorial that was to be posted along with a dream. The editorial was nearly one page long and explained that I had made the decision to close down my blog completely: delete the Facebook page, the Twitter account and WordPress…ect.
The posting and closing date of the last blog was to be December 1, 2014; however, for some unexplained reason between the time I had written the editorial and December 1st, my follower numbers suddenly began to soar. This has encouraged me to continue. The following dream is my subconscious informing me what I need to do.

.
2014/12/05 Friday; Unconscious dreaming
I was walking through a white rectangular tunnel. Every few yards the tunnel would take a 45 degree turn sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right, there did not seem to be a pattern. I passed other people going in the opposite direction perhaps a dozen or fewer, some by themselves and others as couples, man and woman. I never said anything to them nor did they acknowledge me.

This would suggest that my subconscious is presenting a new awareness and new beginnings. I am taking a fresh look at my blog; however, I need to change some things around, such as putting in more labor and having more consistency. Wish me luck.

Demise

Some of my dreams play out as a book or movie. They have a beginning, an end and a plot. These are more prevalent because I practice throughout the day to have them. In most dreams my character runs off on its own. In others I can be aware and intervene at anytime; however, I find it most enjoyable to sometimes just be the hitchhiker in the subconscious and follow the path of the story. The following dream is purely a mixture of my waking life. I read and listen to a lot of science fiction and for exercise I run, 10 or more miles every other day. This also includes being a crane operator which falls into the story.

The dream is a story line, my mind filtering through all my daily activities of work, exercise and relaxation. This is my mind’s way of creating imaginary worlds while I sleep. Kind of like Rolling Credits back on March 20, 2005.

Friday, November 14, 2014; Story line

I was a crane operator in a city that was crumbling into dust. Electricity was a rare commodity and saved strictly for survival and operation of equipment. The crane I operated was once part of a series of gantry cranes to unloaded ships coming through the river. These ships were all gone and so was the river. What remained was a vast trench a quarter mile wide and possibly a hundred feet deep. Only two cranes remained, and these were used to reach down into what was left of the river’s water source.

Only a mixture of muddy water ran through the trench. The cranes dropped a large sack, able to contain several cubic yards of water, into the foul mix. I remember holding the sack while it soaked up the water. While waiting, a crew and I worked on the crane. It was old and worn out, dust and dirt packed in its electrical parts and gears. I knew it would not be long before it was totally worthless.

Afterwards, I hoisted the sack up and over to a large tank where it was dumped. The tank filtered out the contaminates leaving good H2O for drinking and cooking. At the end of the day, I left and walked back into what was the center of town. What happened to the planet was that aliens had landed years before and released animals that had come from their world. I don’t recall why they had done this or if any of us actually knew.

In the dream, I never actually saw the animals or the aliens. However, we erected a large wall around the city to keep the animals out. I knew they were enormous and took in unbelievable amounts of water, both fresh and salt, draining the earth. They were also omnivores and had nearly consumed all the forests of the world. The earth animals other than man had long since perished.

The Sun was nearly down once I had made it to the center of town. Everyone was standing around, and a meeting was being held. Every so often, a name would be drawn in a lottery which had several significances. That person was evicted out of the city and into what was left of the wilderness. Because food was in such short demand, this kept the city’s population low and unfortunately fed the alien creatures on the outside, so they would not force their way inside.

This evening my name had been drawn, and I was immediately grabbed by members of the community and ushered to the gates of the city. I was violently shoved out the gates and thrown to the ground. By the time I jumped up and turned, the gates had been closed and locked. There was a small forest that surrounded the city and desert that surrounded the forest. The creatures that I was being fed to slept at night so my only hope was to make it through the forest and out into the desert before the daytime. Of course, I knew that if I did not get eaten the desert would eventually be my demise.

I began a slow jog and because of the moonlit night, I found a trail that ran through the woods. The moon lit up the path, but the woods on each side were a wall of blackness. I ran as hard as I could but as quietly as possible so as not to disturb any of the creatures. As the sun rose the next day, I found that I ‘d run several miles out into the desert. A few miles ahead were some low hills which I raced for; by midday I made it to the hills and began climbing.

My body was sticky from sweat, and I felt the dust and dirt in the creases of my skin. My climb was pretty sheer and took time. At one point, I heard a roar directly behind and below me. I turned and saw that a long extinct Tyrannosaurus was at the foot of the hill trying to get at me. Thankfully, I was well above his reach as he clawed at the side of the hill, snapping his great jaws in hopes of reaching me.

I was astonished that something like this existed. Although I had never seen a real-life Tyrannosaurus, I had seen their skeletal remains in museums and this one was no ordinary dinosaur, much larger than a Tyrannosaurus. I could not understand where it could have come from. Even with its great size, it was only one and would make a fine meal if several of the alien animals attacked it at once.

I then noticed hinges on each side of its jaw and its eyes seem to be made of glass. The more I inspected the Tyrannosaurus, the better the details, and I saw its limbs seemed to have been snapped into place. My mind raced—this was not a living creature but a giant replica like toy or robot. It continued to roar and clawed into the dirt of the hill. I figured my best bet was to continue climbing in case it drew the attention of the alien creatures.

I made it to a ledge and sat down to rest. While there I took a look at the expanse before me, from the forest to the city I had been expelled from. To the left of the city, I saw the cranes dropping their bags over the side of the trench into the muddy waters. I stood up and turned around, seeing the mouth of a cave; I walked slowly inside. Inside the mouth of the cave the floor was covered in toys, not just any toys, but only dolls and animals, thousands of them scattered about and piled on top of each other. I even noticed dinosaur toys, which included the version of the Tyrannosaurus that had approached me; happily this one was small enough to fit in your hand and lay unmoving like toys should.

Hi.” A small voice startled me. I looked up further into the cave and saw a small girl of about 10 to 12 years of age.

Hello,” I said, “are these your toys?”

Yes. I am going to bring them to life and have them kill all the alien creatures.”

I thought about the enormous toy Tyrannosaurus.

Did you make the dinosaur down at the bottom of the hill?” I asked her.

Yes, I made others but the alien creatures destroyed them because of their numbers. These I will make as big as the alien creatures and have them all attack at the same time.”

Still standing at the very back of the cave, she began waving her hands, as though she was swooshing something outside. I watched as hundreds of toys closest to the cave opening began to twitch and move. Dolls began to sit up and look around while the animal toys bolted up on all fours. As if they had suddenly become aware, they began their march outward. As the toys exited, their sizes began to grow 10 to 15 feet tall as they reached the edge of the ledge where they dropped over the side.

The dolls and toy animals did not have a chance to fall, for as soon as they stepped over the edge, they grew to enormous heights. They began to march toward the forest, every toy animal imaginable was in the mix, including dolls of all types: Barbie’s, Raggedy Ann’s, toy soldiers and every other doll I had ever seen.

Exiting the cave, the other toys came to life in sequence. So many covered the floor, after it seemed hundreds or even thousands had left, not a dent had been made in the number that remained, waiting their turn. Outside in the desert, there were so many and so packed due to their great size, they covered the land. I stood there and watched, between the toys coming to life and the ones that had already made it to the edge of the forest, and woke up soon after.
