Shh!

If you take a look on my website, you will find my personal dream definitions, ‘When reading my posts.’ Look at Lucid dreaming and out-of-body experience. I won’t give the full definitions here but there is a wide line between the two, most of the time.

The following dream is one where the line is very thin. I had got so caught up that I never thought of checking to see if I could control my environment or anything else for that matter.

It took the recall of an object to make me become lucid. In most all my obe’s, lucidity is there the moment I step in. Meaning this was just a very good lucid dream.

I was standing inside a laboratory along with two other people, a man and a woman. We were all dressed in hiking clothes and standing next to a large metal door. In the dream, I knew that the laboratory was an experiment to see if we could open doors to other worlds. I’m not sure what my position was in the dream; however, the man and woman were scientists who had developed the technology.

The door was set away from the walls and only stood upright due to the framework that held it to the floor. Large cables and wires ran down the outside to computers along the walls and plain boxes that sat next to them. I had seen something like this before and was racking my brain, when it came to me. ‘Tilt‘, Tilt had been an out-of-body experience where a scientist had tricked me into going through a similar door that placed me in another world.

Because of this revelation, I knew that I was either in an out-of-body experience here or a dream. Not knowing which, I decided just to go along and follow the lead of the two scientists. One man placed his hand on a handle mounted on the door and pulled. The door swung easily open and through it was a thick lush jungle. Some fern-looking leaves hung through the door inside the laboratory.

The man pushed aside the ferns and the woman followed outside into the jungle; . After they had struggled through the growth and were several feet from the door, I went out too. I had made it a dozen feet or more when I turned and looked back at the door. I expected to see an opening from one world into the other. The foliage was so incredibly thick, it only looked like any other doorway that might be surrounded by trees and bushes.

The struggle to make some distance became too much, and our traverse had only gained us a few yards. Separated by just a few feet from each other, the man called out to me and the woman.

We need some tools to make a path through here,” he said.

Turning, we went back to the laboratory. Once inside the woman and man began discussing the best way to make a path. The woman suggested we could send a small drone up through the canopy to see how large the alien forest was. If it covered an entire continent, then a path would just be foolish. Looking at the still open door leading outside, I asked, “If we can go outside, can’t whatever is out there come in here?”

The man and woman looked at me then to the door and back at me. I closed the door; however, there was no way to lock it. For some reason, I turned around, and the room went dark.

I opened my eyes to the darkness of my room. “Oh great.” I said to myself. It was a dream, and I awoke too soon. The turning had been my body flopping over on its right side and had awakened me. I closed my eyes and drifted back off.

I was back inside the lab.

Through a door on the far side, the man and woman scientist came in with a couple of machetes and a hatchet. I seemed to be at about the same point in time I awoke from.

You’re not going to send up a drone?” I asked.

We are,” said the woman, “but first we’re going to have to find or make an area large enough for it to take off from.”

I thought about this and understood. The jungle was so thick, anything taking flight would have to go straight up first. The man held out the machete in one hand and the hatchet in the other.

You want to hack or slash?” he asked.

I reached out and took the hatchet. I was closest to the door, so I took a couple of steps over and pulled open the door. Looking out, I froze at the sight in front of me.

How long was I gone?” I asked them.

Outside starting from the foot of the door was not just a path but a road. Not a good road but it was about ten feet wide and just a few feet away, widened to at least twenty or more. The surface was a moist hard clay-looking material that had been stirred up by many boots and wheels. There was a thin fog flowing through the area, and everything was dripping in dampness.

We are somewhere else,” I stated. The woman pushed past me and stepped outside. She took a look around and shook her head.

No we’re not,” she said. She panned her arm to the left pointing at the forest. “I recall some of those trees. We are in the same place but some years ahead.”

She began to walk away from us. The man stepped out next, and I followed. We walked slowly due to the slippery surface.

To the left of us was a small mound running parallel with the road. Something was buried, pipe wiring, or something else. The road held a small incline for several dozen yards until we reached the top. It then took more of angle downward and perhaps five or more hundred feet away, was a crew laying pipe.

We took the long stroll down to the crew who stopped working as we approached. One of the crew, a man came up to us survey the superintendent.

Can I help you?” He asked politely.

Who are you people?” Asked the male scientist, “and how did you get here?”

We are the first staging crew.” The superintendent replied, “We laying out the pipe to the lake down there.” He pointed farther down to the road that lead to a large lake some miles away.

Once we get things up and running for water access, they can start the colonization process.”

How long ago was this planet found?” Asked my female colleague.

I’m not sure?” The super answered were her, “A little more than five years ago. Some scientist discovered it and had an exploration team check it out. After that it was deemed safe and people wanted to move here.”

What about any wild creatures in the surrounding forest?” She asked.

There aren’t any.” The super informed her. “None at all. No birds, bugs, creepy crawlers, nothing. Other than plant life the place is bare, at least until people start moving in.”

Thank you.” Said the man with us. He turned along with the woman and both headed back to the lab.

I fast stepped to catch up with them.

What’s going on?” I asked, “Did we somehow get transported to the future?”

Yes, but only here.” the male scientist replied. “Once we get back to the lab, we will be back in our own time.”

If we came out in the future, won’t the lab be replaced by whatever bought that crew here?” I wondered.

No.” Came the answer from the woman. “Everyone returns to their place of origin.”

I trotted alongside trying to understand it all when I awoke.

My eyes came open in my room and I laid there awhile festering. I hated it when my dreams were cut short and I could not get to the end or gather more information. I was finding it hard to get back to sleep so I used the time to quietly make a bathroom call. I came back to bed and soon fell back to sleep.

I stood inside what looked to be an office. There was a man in a suite sitting at a desk shuffling some papers around. He glanced up, noticing me he jumped to his feet.

Are you hear looking for a place or just want a tour?” He said smiling. Before I could answer he came around the desk over to me.

Here,” he continued while walking past me. I turned in the direction he had gone and caught sight of an over-sized metal door, the door that lead to the other world from the two previous dreams. The door stood wide open. Outside all signs of construction had been replaced by a wide pea-gravel path. Thick short bushes only a food tall outlined each side of the path. The forest still stood, other than the path, undisturbed.

The “Salesman” I was guessing stepped outside and turned back to face me.

Is this your first time here?” He asked me.

No,” I replied to him, “the last time was when the pipe crew was here.”

Wow.” He exclaimed, “That was years ago. Well a lot has changed.” He motioned me with his right arm to follow him, he then turned and began down the path. I stepped outside and quickly caught up to him. Just a few yards from the door the path split in to two. In read of going straight as where the pipe had been laid, we took a path that ran off to the right.

I do not recall if the salesman talked while we strolled down the path, my full attention was on the surrounding forest. So many trees and bushes that I could not see two alike. Everything was a deep green. The trees grew high but due to being crowded, the limbs stayed short, was my guess. What got to me the most was the silence.

I recalled the pipe superintendent telling us that this world was barren of any life other than plant. I had thought about so many other places I had been and how quiet they also were. Earth had to be one of if not, the nosiest planet.

The path began to slope downward. We had walked for some minutes when the path opened up to a green short grassy field. The field itself was only some fifty feet wide and ended in a cliff. The cliff was about one hundred and fifty feet high. This was easy to guess because it is about the same height as the seat in my crane.

The cliff overlooked a vast ocean with many small islands that sat only a few feet above waterline. The ocean itself was smooth as glass. On each island stood a plantation. Each held a home gardens and some buildings that my have been for storage or guest houses. I saw no boats or docks but one single road ran from somewhere below out over the water.

The road or bridge it should be called, almost touched the water and connected each island to the other.

Everything is so close to the waterline.” I mentioned, “One storm or heavy wind could drown it all. And what about the tides, or is this hide tide?” I asked.

None of the above.” The Salesman replied, “There is really only one weather pattern here. The planet obits its sun at an equal distance and the north and south poles, are parallel with the suns poles. There’s very little wind to speak of, no rain and only one season and it’s called warm.”

The last time I was here, there was thick fog and how do the forest thrive if there is no rain?” I asked.

Just before the sun rises, the morning heat pushes up a thick fog hundreds of miles wide and a couple of thousand miles in length north and south of the equator. It’s a permanent fog bank circling the planet. It’s very cool looking if you have seen the videos. The forest collects the moister dripping the excess on the ground. This turns into tiny streams that run together forming rivers some very massive. However, all of them streams and rivers only exist for about four hours in the morning.” he explained to me.

What’s the name of the planet?” I asked.

Shh.” He sounded.

I became quite and listened. After a few seconds I asked,

What are we listening for?”

Nothing.” he replied.

Okay. So what is the name?” I asked again.

Shh.” he sounded once again then broke out into a smile. “Sorry but, that gets everyone.”

What does?”

The name of the planet is, S-h-h. Shh.” he smiled.

Of all the names I could have thought of or up, how did that one make it?”

From all the expeditions and construction here. The place is so quite that people would talk to loud or think they heard something, so “Shh” was always a repetitive response, it just caught on.”

I could have thought of a lot of names but standing there I did think it was a unique name. I looked back over the ocean and the dotted islands.

This is a great place to live.” The salesman said. “Would you like to see some other land areas here? Most are very remarkable.”

Yes, I would.” I informed him.

I began following him back up the path that had brought here. Somewhere along the way, I woke up having to get ready for work, here in this reality.
