Work

SWOOSH!

Sunday, January 3, 2016

In last night dream I was working out of town; not sure if it was the up-coming job in San Fransisco. I missed home to the point of walking off the job and headed to the airport to catch a flight home. The company I had been working for was footing the bill for my rental car,so I left the car on the job and decided to walk back to the airport.

During my walk through the city, I passed a parking lot. In the lot, was a single car painted a dark purple on very large rims. Oddly, the rims looked like they could also be used as music speakers. The back tires had wheelboots placed on them; the police place on cars for parking illegally or owed fines.

There was co-worker looking at the car from the side walk as I passed. This co-worker was someone from the dream, not anyone I know in this reality, yet.

Are those wheels also speakers?” I asked him.

Yes,” he replied, “The car is owned by a radio station that didn’t pay some fines and it’s been part there for some time.”

You want to see something cool?” he asked, “Follow me.”

I followed him to an old well kept brick building next to the parking lot. The building was on an intersection with large shaded trees surrounding the area. The side of the building ran parallel with the street I followed while the front entrance faced the street just before the inter section. The first floor sat about five feet of the ground and concrete steps leading to the entrance held several people standing on them. One of the people was a dark-haired woman standing at the top. I stood at the bottom of the steps and watched as a man in dark clothes walked pass me up to the steps toward the woman. In his hand, he carried a large case; possibly five feet long by two feet wide and one foot thick.

Once he got to the top next and by the woman, he opened the case. She pulled out a long black tube and lifted it onto her shoulders.

Is that an RPG?” I asked.

Yes.” said my co-worker who stood next t me, “Keep watching.”

Another man one step down from the woman plucked a small rocket out of the case and loaded it into the RPG. I looked out over the intersection at the traffic and other buildings running throughout the streets; surely she wasn’t going to fire the rocket, Just then I heard a loud “SWOOSH” and a trail of smoke exploded past me. I could see the rocket speeding toward the intersection, keeping only a few feet off the ground. There was a panel van that had gone through the intersection and had nearly made it out of my sight past a building when the rocket punched through the back of the van.

Just as the van disappeared out of sight, there was an ear-splitting explosion that sent pieces of the van in every direction. The debris became projectiles and ripped through cars, buildings and people. The devastation was too incredible for such a small rocket that I began to think the van must have been caring something to escalate the damage. I looked back at the woman and others up on the steps; they had all taken off running. I noticed something at my feet, and it was the RPG. The woman had tossed it down before running, and now I was the only one there to take the blame.

I took off running also but not actually paying attention to where I was going. After sometime I came to a stop and knew I had to call police to inform them what had happened and who had caused the devastation. I searched pockets but could not find my phone, it then dawned on me that I had left it back in the rental along with my plane ticket. I looked around for a payphone but saw none. I ran over to a nearby hotel and went inside. I asked the desk clerk to use their phone, but they said the hotel had none. I began to stop guests in the lobby and but none of them carried phones. I explained that I needed to call the police, but each one told me that I would have to use my phone or find an officer.

The only thing I could do was head back to the rental car and get my phone and airline ticket. I went outside and stopped under the awning. Night had fallen, and a hard cold rain was falling. I stepped out into the storm, and my feet became wet. I looked down to see my shoes were gone, and I only had a pair of socks on. My body became wet with chills, and I noticed my coat was gone. I had no other choice other than to run back to my car bare footed, wet and cold. I took off running awakening as I did.

To dream of clouds represents situations in your life which overshadow everything else. Noticeable or powerful distractions, delays, or disappointments. The number 3 in a dream may reflect chaos. There may be unpredictability in your life.-dreambible.com

Tuesday, April 28, 2015;Unconscious dreaming
I arrived at work sometime later in the day than my usual time. The sun shone out of a cloudless blue sky as I drove around the parking area several times but could not find an empty space. I called my boss to inform him of the problem I had while I continued to hunt for a spot. He told me I could drive over to one of our new offices at the south end of the yard and park in the driveway there. He stated that no one would be there today, and I did not have to worry about being towed.

I drove over to the building and found a small driveway in front and parked. I left my backpack in the trunk; it had been after lunch, and I would be coming back and leaving in just over three hours. Walking from the car to the office to check in took about five minutes. Within four minutes of my walk, something caught my eye to the northeast. I spotted a large cumulus cloud rising quickly in the distance. I could only see the top as one of the buildings was in the way; because of the speed at which it rose, my curiosity made me jog to get around the building.

In the clearing, I saw it was a mushroom cloud many miles away. What came to mind was a nuclear explosion, but I had not seen a flash or heard anything; however, the entire cloud was pure white. As I stood watching the cloud, people came to a stop and stared as well. Moments later, another white mushroom cloud rose a little farther north than the first one. Again, there had not been any flash or sound wave coming from either cloud, but I did begin to worry.

These clouds were not normal, and an eerie feeling began to overwhelm me. I turned and rushed back to my car. While I ran through the yard others began to panic also, even more when they saw me in a heated run. I made it to the building and turning the corner; I saw my car was gone. I rushed over to a guard shack a few yards down and asked if they had seen it. The guard informed me he had it towed because I had not had the decal for that area. I explained I had been given permission from my boss; he knew nothing about it.

I had to have my car, so there was no need to argue. I asked about its location and found to my relief, it did not go to a towing yard but a fenced in lot at the north end of the shipyard. Before I left, the guard informed me I would not be able to retrieve the car, all gates were in lock down. I could leave the yard but without the car. I left and rushed to the north end. I could do without the car if I had to, but I needed my backpack in order to make it home.

Along the way, I glanced over to where the last cloud had erupted to see yet another one blossoming up north of the second and just as white as the others. Guards were out in the streets directing workers away from the piers and to the mustering [emergency] areas. As I passed one of the guards, he shouted that I could go no farther in the yard and had to either report to my area or exit the facilities. I turned toward one of the buildings as if I were going inside. Instead, I ran around the back side and continued to the towing area; the three clouds continuing their rise into the heavens. Making it to the fence, I located the entrance. The gate had been chained locked, but I knew I could slip through.

Close by, another guard was directing people from the work areas; I ran over to him and explained I needed my car. He said that was impossible today especially with the emergency. I then asked if I could go inside to retrieve some things out of the trunk, I was denied. He ordered me to follow the crowd to our stations; I turned and rushed away. I went back to the chain locked fence, looking behind me to see the guard watching. I had no choice; I needed my supplies. I dashed under the chain and inside the lot, hearing the guard shout out after me. Once in, I ducked down hurrying between the cars hoping to stay out of sight and make it to the car before caught.

Every so often, I would have to stand and take a quick look for the car. I spotted the hoods of several white cars in different areas and headed to the closest one. I could hear the guard shouting for backup. I made it to the first white car— it was not mine. I slipped my head up again and found the next nearest one; that too was not mine. Third time was a charm and, staying on my knees, I popped the trunk. Reaching in, I pulled out my bag and tossed it on my back. I gathered some other things I may need and closed the trunk.

I could not risk being caught. I did not believe he would arrest me, but my bag may be confiscated. I made my way back toward the gate noticing a guard posted there, my only exit. I moved back among the cars and began making my way along the fence line in hopes of finding a way over or under. Somewhere along my search, I awoke.

The Last Laugh

It’s been a long couple of weeks. Due to several crane operators being out, several of us have had to take up the slack. Oh, and having some “$#@%” driver broadside my car and total it, I haven’t had a chance to work on anything new, so I’ve dipped into the dream journal archive.

Wednesday, June 6, 2011

In the dream, it was Friday, and I had gone to a company that I had worked for in the early 2000s: a fabrication shop and crane rental. With me was a friend, and we had heard the company was hiring. We had met the superintendent whom I had worked under and had not cared much for. My friend said we were applying for work, the superintendent said, “Sure, come back Monday morning to go to work.”

That following Monday the friend and I showed up. A co-worker greeted us and welcomed me back. He said that he and a crew were getting equipment together to head out to NASA on a job. I helped load up some trucks and there was a 1,000-gallon diesel tank on a trailer that had to be pulled along We did not have any trucks left in the yard, so I hooked the trailer up to my truck and pulled it in line behind the other equipment.

I began to wonder if I would be compensated in fuel for the use of my truck. I unhooked the trailer and pulled back into the parking lot. I walked into the shop in search of the superintendent to ask if they wanted me to use my truck. I approached the superintendent who saw me coming and placed his hands on his hips. When I stepped up to him, he spoke, “What are doing here?” he laughed sarcastically, “You think you work here or something?”

I thought about it and it dawned on me, when he had said to come back Monday, it may not have been directed at me but just my friend. It then became clear that I had forgotten I was working for my current company and did not need or want the job with this man but did want to brag about my current company.

“No,” I replied laughing back at him, “I was just dropping off my friend and was leaving when I remembered to tell him something.” I turned and walked out. As I passed the front of the office, I saw that the entire front was all glass. Inside was a small department where the owner of the company was selling boat motors. I thought they must not be doing so great if they had to sell boat motors to help their profits.

Mr. Paranoia

I’ve worked for a few companies in my life, some I miss and others I try to block out because they were a nightmare. One company in particular I worked for, stood in a category all its own. The owner of the company had only one emotion that made up his entire personality: paranoia. He micro-managed his company and the people under him for fear that someone would steal something from him. Here are two examples and I’m not exaggerating:

1) Cameras monitored every employee and every inch of his property inside and out. He would arrive two hours early and go over the video from the previous closing time to that morning. Once, a boy of about 12-14 years old rode a bike onto the property after hours, turned around and left. Mr. Paranoia had us come in to see if we knew the kid or had ever seen him before—no one did.

He then called police to file a report; he became angry when police told him no crime had been committed so they would not be wasting their time filing any reports. For several weeks after, he and family members (just as paranoid) came in at four-hour shifts overnight, in case the kid showed up again.

2) The most ridiculous one: he even monitored employee bathroom breaks. Restrooms in the company were kept locked; if you needed to go, you went to Mr. Paranoia and asked. He would then come out of his office and escort you to the supply closet. There he would pull out a roll of toilet paper, (that’s right, no toilet paper was kept in the bathroom for fear someone would steal it). He would then roll out two feet of paper, tear it off and hand it to you.

Then the two of you would step over to the bathroom door where he would unlock the door and look at his watch; you had ten minutes to do your business, anything more, and you were docked 15 minutes. Afterward, he inspected the bathroom to make sure you did not leave a mess. Then, you went back outside to a water hose where you could wash your hands if needed. Yep, no soap or towels were kept in the bathroom; you supplied your own.

The current company I work for by far is the best. Like any company, their ways here can get to you occasionally. When I do begin to get aggravated, dreams like the following one pop up to remind me, things could be far worse. So Mr. Paranoia and his company are usually the dream incentive to remind me of what I have.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015; unconscious dreaming

I was working with some local company— what I did, I don’t recall. I had a Ford 3500 dual wheeled pickup I used for work, don’t recall if it belonged to me or the company. However, the employer I was working for sent me out for some diesel fuel. I took two five-gallon cans and placed them in back of the truck. Down the street was the company that belonged to Mr. Paranoia, I recalled he had a 500-gallon fuel tank. I parked the truck a block away from his yard and walked the rest carrying the five-gallon cans.

His yard was empty of personnel and strangely the gates were left open. I walked on in and sat the cans down next to the fuel tank. I pumped both cans full, hung up the nozzle and picked the cans up. Leaving his yard, I cut through a wooded area between his shop and where I parked the truck. Just as I entered the woods I noticed to my right Mr. Paranoia driving by and looking over at his property. He happened to notice a figure, me, moving through the woods with the fuel cans, and he slowed to get a better look.

I knew he had yet to recognize me, so I turned onto a path to the left that took me deeper into the woods and away from the road. I glanced to my right to see him holding up traffic trying to get a good look at me, but I turned my back on him and continued on. He finally sped up and as soon as he was out of sight, I made for my truck. Once there I placed the cans in the back and took off. Since it was so close to lunch time, I went home.

At my house, I suddenly remembered that Mr. Paranoia had cameras all around his property and would be checking them when he got back to his office. I began to panic and realized that I had stolen fuel for no apparent reason. I could not understand why I had done such a thing. I hopped back in the truck and rushed off to Mr. Paranoia’s office.

I pulled into the driveway at the front door and went in.  A receptionist greeted me but looked at me suspiciously.

Hello,” I said, “I wanted to let you know that I stopped by here earlier and mistook this place for a gas station.”  I lied. “I took ten gallons in fuel and wanted to come in here and pay for it.”

That’s a lie,” she came back, “I saw you come up and take the fuel than sneak off into the woods with it. It’s also all on video.”

Look,” I pleaded, “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I did it but I came back and want to pay for the fuel, I’ll even pay extra to make up for it.” I pulled a wade of cash out of my pocket and tried to hand it over.

I’m sorry,” she said unconcerned, “but I can’t accept that. When Mr. Paranoia gets in, he will go over the video and see that you intended to steal from him. It’s out of my hands and you will have to deal with him.”

I knew she was right, after all I knew the guy well, and he would be pressing charges. I walked out to my truck wondering if I should just wait or go ahead to the police department and turn myself in. I did not know what to do; more than anything my mind was boggled and confused as to why I had done this. I got in the truck and sat there contemplating my actions and the effects they would have on the rest of my life. During this time, I woke up.

A personal note; for those of you that have downloaded my app, I want to say thank you. Unfortunately, I will be discontinuing the app at the end of this month. My decision is based on usage and finances. After the time I have had the app running, there have not been enough downloads to justify the cost. This isn’t to say the app is costly; I just have to cut corners somewhere to keep my website and blog going. However, let me throw Como one; if you are in need of an app, Como has an easy format to work with. I’ve also contacted support for some answers and let me say, these people care about their product.

I’m hoping in the future I can bring it back, but it will only be if I come up with some financial support for expandurmind. Thanks again to those of you that have been using it and please continue to check out my site.

Jaded

I’m a workaholic by nature, also using my job as a place to get away or put off things I need to accomplish like building my attributes. Hence, some of my dreams come from that source of my personality, a reoccurring message that my consciousness screams at me.

Monday, February 9, 2015; Unconscious dreaming
I was back at a company I had worked with just over ten years ago. I was in the office of my former employer chatting with him about vacation plans. He was telling me about an upcoming trip to Taiwan with his wife and a friend. Since my vacation was starting the same time as his, he invited me and my wife along, even offering to pay for the flight and room.

“That’s great but, you’re going for ten days, my vacation is only five,” I told him, “besides, I really don’t like to fly.”

“I’m the boss,” he said. “I’m extending your paid vacation to ten days and paying your round trip airfare as well. That should encourage you to get on a plane; besides, I have rented a plane for an aerial view over Japan from Taiwan and back.”

“I’m very grateful and accept,” I happily informed him.

In the next scene, my wife and I were going down a smooth flowing river in a raft. Up ahead another raft carried my employer, his wife and their friend. We were all enjoying the experience of Taiwan’s rivers. After sometime we landed on a small shoreline for lunch. The five of us sat on the pebble covered shore surrounded by bright green vegetation and a cloudless blue sky.

My employer had brought along his friend, the actor Ian Ziering. I talked with Ian about the movie “Sharknado“, and how I liked the actors, but I could not get past the bad special effects. After everyone had finished lunch it was back to the rafts; however, my wife and I decided to stay and explore more of the shoreline. My boss, his wife and Ian got into their boats; he told me to have fun, but make sure we were in time for dinner that evening.

Once the others had gone around a bend, my wife and I waded ankle deep along the water’s edge. My wife spotted a large, bright green stone in the water and picked it up. It was a jade stone, oblong, translucent and about half the size of a football. I could not get over the find and had her hold it up to the sun. The sun, shining through the veins inside the jade, made up an image like a laser sketch in a glass paperweight.

The image was remarkably like a small Asian town made up of reed roofs and bamboo walls; in front of the buildings was a small dirt road. I told my wife to hang on to it and we trekked further up the shore. In a few yards we spotted another, although not identical, it was nearly the same size and shape. Holding it up to the sun we saw the image created by the veins, this one of a small Asian man in a conical hat fishing at a small pond. As we admired it, I saw another near us; scooping it up, I held it to the sun—inside was a thick forest. I informed my wife we should place these in the raft and look for more. The dream then shifted to the next scene.

My wife, my employer Ian and I were sitting at a table in a very nice restaurant. My boss’s head was lying on the table and I knew we had (except for my wife) been drinking— my boss, heavily. A waitress came to our table and asked if we wanted another round.

“Yes,” said my boss in a slurred voice.

Ian and I replied at the same time, “No!“

“It’s time to take you back to your room,” Ian informed my boss.

We all stood but for my boss. Ian and I scooped him up by his arms and I told my wife I would meet her back at our room. As we carried my boss back to his room, he continued to mumble how mad his wife was going to be. After reaching his room Ian knocked and the door opened for us. We took my boss in and dropped him on the bed. Back outside I told Ian I would see him in the morning.

The next scene was the following morning and I was calling my boss’s room to find out what time we were all meeting for the flight over Japan. My boss answered in a dying man’s tone.

“I can’t leave the room,” he said, “my head feels like it’s going to explode.” With that, he hung the phone up. I looked over at my wife and informed her the trip had been canceled. Shortly afterward, I woke.

Negatively, the boss in my dream is me. It symbolizes my limitations and lack of freedom due to work.

(The vacation indicates) I need a break to recharge my energies and revitalize myself, get out of the daily routine and do something different; because I’m (The raft) drifting through life. The actor represents the pursuit of pleasure.

Finding the Jade stones indicates growth, healing force, purity, harmony, luck, immortality, and truth. It refers to the shaping and development of my personality which will only materialize if I seek it out.

The sun symbolizes peace of mind, enlightenment, tranquility, fortune, goodwill, and insight. Generally, the sun is a good omen, especially if the sun is shining. The jade stones combined with the sunlight give me everything I’m in need of.

In the restaurant I’m feeling overwhelmed by decisions and choices that I need to get to in life. Drinking denotes that I’m seeking escape and ending up with a hangover signifies these problems are not being solved.
In the end my vacation has gone bad suggesting that I’m not getting away from the daily responsibilities of my waking life; which is causing difficulties coping with life’s problems and issues.

Toady

During this night, I had three separate dreams, all on the same subject. My subconscious is pushing hard to get a message across.

Saturday, December 6, 2014
First dream;
I was starring in a comedy that ran two seasons, surprised in the dream that it lasted one episode. The show was about construction workers, mainly crane operators. As a half-hour comedy, the show aired for two seasons.
One day between shots, a co-star approached me. “I heard this is the last episode— we’ve been canceled.”
I had been leaning against an engine prop of a crane and shrugged my shoulders.
“I’m not surprised. I didn’t even expect the show to go past its pilot. I never thought it was that funny to begin with so, I’ve been preparing myself for this since then.”
I could tell he was upset over the news. The break ended and we returned to the set.

Second dream;
I was asleep in the bed when my phone rang, I looked over at the clock to see—it was 2:00 am.
“Hello,” I answered groggily. I heard my co-worker’s voice from the the other end.
“Hey William, does Virginia have toads?”
“Toads? You mean like frogs?”
“Yeah. I’m looking for a toad,” he said.
“Who’s calling so early?” my wife asked.
“A co-worker,” I informed her. She shook her head and got out of bed heading to the bathroom. I continued the conversation with my co-worker.
“Why are you asking?”
“I want a toad for a pet. Where can I find one?” he asked.
I could not believe he had awakened me for this; he sounded sober.
“Around creeks, ponds and ditches,” I snapped.
“Great, thank you!” he said excitedly and hung up. I set the phone down and went back to sleep.

Third dream;
I was carrying a five-gallon aquarium across the yard. Inside, I set up a terrarium for a toad and five of its tadpoles. The water sloshed around and suddenly all the tadpoles were propelled out. They fell into the grass, and I set the tank down in hopes of finding them. After some delicate searching, I found each one and replaced it back into the tank.

Copied, pasted then edited from; dreammoods.com
Being on TV suggests that there is something I want to broadcast to the whole world to express myself, (my blog)
A co-worker in my dream (that is not my coworker in life), pertains to some psychological business that I need to work on. (opening up more)
To see and hear the telephone (my subconscious) signifies I need to listen to a message. My co-worker, in this case real, places my focus on the subject (the toad).
A “toad” suggests that I am hiding my true self and should be obligated to opening up more to my audience. The tadpoles mean that I have not reached my full potential, keeping them all in an aquarium avoids changes, repeating or just running in circles. “Five” represents my need to take a new path. Spilling the tadpoles, (freed) and finding the slippery critters, “Don’t let this opportunity slip through your hands.”
In a nutshell: the message is directed to the part of “expandurmind” my followers see of me, a general audience, cautious, kind of guy. To really make myself and my blog grow, I need to expose the psychological darker side of my dreams, out-of-body experiences and me.

One

The following dream is a good representation of my current life. I’ve broken down the meaning at the end.

Sunday, December 4, 2015

I was standing in the office of a former employer hoping to get hired back into the company. He handed me a photograph of an airport, the type that only allowed the flights of small planes. The background was thick with trees and the on the side closest was a field of green grass. From the camera’s view I could just see the long stretch of concrete that made up the runway. At the top corner of the page was scrawled $75,000.

“I need you to go look at this job and tell me if we can replace the runway for that amount,” my former boss said.

“Where is it?” I asked.

“Just go out to the road here,” he pointed to the door outside, “and follow it. It goes right by the airport. If you get me the information back by the end of the day you have the job.”

I handed the photograph back to him and left his office. It was early morning, and the sun had yet to rise. I walked over to my car which had a bicycle hooked onto the back. Since I had become such a health nut, I decided it would be better and more fun to ride the bike out to the site and take a look.

The bicycle had one wheel like a unicycle; however, attached between the seat and wheel was a bar that stretched out in front and curved upwards leading to a set of handlebars. I hopped on the seat and began peddling down the road, briefly battling to get the bike stable.

Once I had the bike in control I began to take in my surroundings. Even though it was dark I could still see quite a few yards around me. The road was smooth and narrow, lined with trees on the left and right, although the trees to the right were set further off from the road where there were some homes and small businesses. The sound of something bouncing through the woods to my left caused me to stop. Soon a deer jumped out into the middle of the road, spotting me; it came to a stop and stared to see what I was going to do. I was more shocked than the deer because of its deformity. The deer which, I soon saw was an antelope, had a normal head and small horns but a tiny body connected to a single leg in the middle of its torso.

Seconds after it had stopped, the antelope continued across the road to the right, bounding away on that single leg. Across the street was a small store, still closed, that the antelope ran down to. At the back of the store grew a short field of grass up to the trees. The antelope stopped at the edge of the grass and collapsed. He curled the single leg up under himself and rested. I stood there in the road staring at the animal, wondering how it could survive.

I had a job to do so I continued biking on down the road, leaving the antelope behind. Some time passed and daylight filled the sky. I was enjoying the biking, the solitude and the environment I was traveling through to the point that I had not realized it was late afternoon. I began to panic, wondering if I had passed the site, and hoping someone could give me directions, I stopped at a small convenience store to my right.

In the parking lot a mother and daughter were coming out of the store. I pulled up next to their car as they were getting in and asked if they knew where I could find the airport. The mother informed me that I had passed it many miles back. My job depended on my getting the information back to my boss that afternoon. By the time I could get back to the job site, my company’s office would be closed. I would have to make up the time by biking back as fast as possible.

I was just about to take off when I heard a couple voices calling, “Daddy” from behind. I turned to see my two sons, who are adults now, but in the dream were around five years of age. I explained to them what I had to do, and we needed to hurry back. My so-called hurrying was moving only as fast as my slowest son.

After a short time both began to whimper about the tiredness of their small legs trying to keep up. Both could not ride on the bike with me, so I figured I could carry one on my back at a time, allowing him to rest and then switch out every so often.

Coming to a stop, I realized I had my backpack on. I knew then it would be impossible to carry either one of them. I walked the bike and the boys to the side of the road, and we sat down in the grass to rest. I knew that by the time I got back to my car it would be late evening and my chances of getting the job were zero. My sons lay down in the grass one on each side of me and fell asleep. Soon after I awoke.

Defining the dream
Everything in an unconscious dream is a symbol to the clue of that dreams meaning. Every symbol also has several answers. How do you know which to choose from? Think of it as a mental puzzle. There are multiple on-line dream dictionaries, I just happen to like, dreammoods.com and use it 90% of the time. If I cannot find an answer there, I use dreamhawk.com and/or curiousdreamer.com.

I actually copy and paste the entire meaning of the dream. Then I go through each line and delete those that are not in my personality or have nothing to do with the current dream and keep what corresponds to the other symbols of that dream; it does take some time. If you have the patience to read through, the meaning of this dream and its breakdown (in order) is below. Regular print is copy and paste, edited from dreammoods.com. Italics in parentheses are my notes.

To stay true to my audience, I’m not being totally forthcoming in defining this dream. A few meanings I kept out because they are very personal, and I’m not ready or wanting to divulge them here.

Work- Dreaming that you are at your former work suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to your current situation.

Photograph- To see a photograph in your dream means that you are clinging on to some false hope. Consider who or what is on the photo. The image may be trying to take you back to a particular moment in time. (The airport in the photo was one my parents lived by when I was 14. Check out my editorial in, “Day of the dragonfly”).

Numbers-To see numbers in your dream symbolize that you need to evaluate a situation more thoroughly. Numbers also carry much personal significance to only you.

(always break numbers down, 75,000)
7- The number seven may also refer to the seven chakras (I need to be more in tune with my energies).

5- The umber five may reflect a change in your path or that you need to alter your course.

0- Zero symbolizes emptiness. You are experiencing a void in your life. Your actions have been counterproductive.

(add up each digit of numbers)

12- Represents cycles and repetition.

1+2=3- Three signifies life, vitality, inner strength, completion, imagination, creativity, energy, self-exploration and experience. (a good description of my energies)

1- Signifies solitude or loneliness. (The one road I traveled, the bike with one wheel, the Antelope with one leg).

Bicycle- (the reason I called this a bicycle and not a unicycle, is due to it had handlebars). To dream that you are riding a bicycle signifies your desires to attain a balance in your life. You need to balance work and pleasure in order to succeed in your current undertakings. If you have difficulties riding the bicycle, (one wheel) then it suggests that you are experiencing anxieties. You need to devote time to leisurely pursuits and recreation.

Road- (this fits the description of the road in my dream). To see a road in your dream refers to your sense of direction and how you are pursuing your goals. If the road is dark, then it reflects the controversial or more frightening choices which you have made or are making. If the road is smooth and bordered by trees or flowers, then it denotes a steady progress and steady climb up the social ladder. If the road is straight and narrow, then it means that your path to success is going as planned. To see an unknown road in your dream represents a path that has not been ventured. You are setting a new precedence for something.

Antelope- To see an antelope in your dream suggests that your high ambitions will only be achieved through a great expenditure of energy, (the 7 chakras). You will experience much success as a result of your dedication.

Children- To dream that your own grown children are still very young indicates that you still see them as young and dependent. You want to feel needed and significant.

Entangled

“To see or become entangled in power-lines represents your struggle for power or empowerment. You are experiencing an obstacle toward your goal.” -dreammoods.com

I was on a job site on a clear blue day with my youngest son Daniel, who had recently picked up a job as a crane operator. It had been several years since he had been in a crane and he asked me to come out to give him a refresher course. When I arrived on the job, I saw that the crane was a 50 ton all-terrain Grove.
He informed me that the crane had just been delivered and was sitting in the spot where he would be operating it. Immediately I saw that the crane was under multiple high-power-lines.

“You can’t operate any crane that close to power-lines, not without a cage around the boom or the lines de-energized,” I told him.

“They have been de-energized, there’s no juice going through them at all,” he responded.

The superintendent approached and told Daniel he needed to come to his office and fill out some paperwork. While Daniel left to fill out his paperwork, I walked over and set up the crane. I wanted to get a feel for how it ran in case there were any glitches that I wanted Daniel to be aware of.

With the crane up on outriggers, I scoped out the boom a few feet and then boomed up. I swung the crane around but within a couple of degrees it seemed sluggish and came to a stop. I looked up and became terrified; I had allowed the boom to become entangled in the overhead power-lines. I quickly began manipulating the boom up and down, back and forth and anything else to release me from the lines.

The more I tried, the more entangled the tip of the boom became; eventually the lines became taut and began snapping from the pole. I shook my head and could not believe what I had done. I was a professional and had done something that most amateurs would never have gotten themselves into. I knew the damage would have to be repaired and decided to move the crane from the spot and at least clean the lines off the tip of the boom. I put in the outriggers and began moving the crane across the job away from the pole. Part way across I realized I had made yet another mistake: I had not scoped in the boom nor lowered it.

The crane was now top heavy and began to sway back and forth; before I could bring it to a stop, I had crossed into a deep rut in the ground to my right, and quickly the crane toppled to that side. In those same moments, thoughts of causing hundreds of thousands of dollars damage to the crane, power-lines and the site crossed my mind, not to mention destroying my career and my son’s chance to get a job. The collapse of the crane was what woke me.

Demise

Some of my dreams play out as a book or movie. They have a beginning, an end and a plot. These are more prevalent because I practice throughout the day to have them. In most dreams my character runs off on its own. In others I can be aware and intervene at anytime; however, I find it most enjoyable to sometimes just be the hitchhiker in the subconscious and follow the path of the story. The following dream is purely a mixture of my waking life. I read and listen to a lot of science fiction and for exercise I run, 10 or more miles every other day. This also includes being a crane operator which falls into the story.

The dream is a story line, my mind filtering through all my daily activities of work, exercise and relaxation. This is my mind’s way of creating imaginary worlds while I sleep. Kind of like Rolling Credits back on March 20, 2005.

I was a crane operator in a city that was crumbling into dust. Electricity was a rare commodity and saved strictly for survival and operation of equipment. The crane I operated was once part of a series of gantry cranes to unloaded ships coming through the river. These ships were all gone and so was the river. What remained was a vast trench a quarter mile wide and possibly a hundred feet deep. Only two cranes remained, and these were used to reach down into what was left of the river’s water source.

Only a mixture of muddy water ran through the trench. The cranes dropped a large sack, able to contain several cubic yards of water, into the foul mix. I remember holding the sack while it soaked up the water. While waiting, a crew and I worked on the crane. It was old and worn out, dust and dirt packed in its electrical parts and gears. I knew it would not be long before it was totally worthless.

Afterwards, I hoisted the sack up and over to a large tank where it was dumped. The tank filtered out the contaminates leaving good H2O for drinking and cooking. At the end of the day, I left and walked back into what was the center of town. What happened to the planet was that aliens had landed years before and released animals that had come from their world. I don’t recall why they had done this or if any of us actually knew.

In the dream, I never actually saw the animals or the aliens. However, we erected a large wall around the city to keep the animals out. I knew they were enormous and took in unbelievable amounts of water, both fresh and salt, draining the earth. They were also omnivores and had nearly consumed all the forests of the world. The earth animals other than man had long since perished.

The Sun was nearly down once I had made it to the center of town. Everyone was standing around, and a meeting was being held. Every so often, a name would be drawn in a lottery which had several significances. That person was evicted out of the city and into what was left of the wilderness. Because food was in such short demand, this kept the city’s population low and unfortunately fed the alien creatures on the outside, so they would not force their way inside.

This evening my name had been drawn, and I was immediately grabbed by members of the community and ushered to the gates of the city. I was violently shoved out the gates and thrown to the ground. By the time I jumped up and turned, the gates had been closed and locked. There was a small forest that surrounded the city and desert that surrounded the forest. The creatures that I was being fed to slept at night so my only hope was to make it through the forest and out into the desert before the daytime. Of course, I knew that if I did not get eaten the desert would eventually be my demise.

I began a slow jog and because of the moonlit night, I found a trail that ran through the woods. The moon lit up the path, but the woods on each side were a wall of blackness. I ran as hard as I could but as quietly as possible so as not to disturb any of the creatures. As the sun rose the next day, I found that I ‘d run several miles out into the desert. A few miles ahead were some low hills which I raced for; by midday I made it to the hills and began climbing.

My body was sticky from sweat, and I felt the dust and dirt in the creases of my skin. My climb was pretty sheer and took time. At one point, I heard a roar directly behind and below me. I turned and saw that a long extinct Tyrannosaurus was at the foot of the hill trying to get at me. Thankfully, I was well above his reach as he clawed at the side of the hill, snapping his great jaws in hopes of reaching me.

I was astonished that something like this existed. Although I had never seen a real-life Tyrannosaurus, I had seen their skeletal remains in museums and this one was no ordinary dinosaur, much larger than a Tyrannosaurus. I could not understand where it could have come from. Even with its great size, it was only one and would make a fine meal if several of the alien animals attacked it at once.

I then noticed hinges on each side of its jaw and its eyes seem to be made of glass. The more I inspected the Tyrannosaurus, the better the details, and I saw its limbs seemed to have been snapped into place. My mind raced—this was not a living creature but a giant replica like toy or robot. It continued to roar and clawed into the dirt of the hill. I figured my best bet was to continue climbing in case it drew the attention of the alien creatures.

I made it to a ledge and sat down to rest. While there I took a look at the expanse before me, from the forest to the city I had been expelled from. To the left of the city, I saw the cranes dropping their bags over the side of the trench into the muddy waters. I stood up and turned around, seeing the mouth of a cave; I walked slowly inside. Inside the mouth of the cave the floor was covered in toys, not just any toys, but only dolls and animals, thousands of them scattered about and piled on top of each other. I even noticed dinosaur toys, which included the version of the Tyrannosaurus that had approached me; happily this one was small enough to fit in your hand and lay unmoving like toys should.

Hi.” A small voice startled me. I looked up further into the cave and saw a small girl of about 10 to 12 years of age.

Hello,” I said, “are these your toys?”

Yes. I am going to bring them to life and have them kill all the alien creatures.”

I thought about the enormous toy Tyrannosaurus.

Did you make the dinosaur down at the bottom of the hill?” I asked her.

Yes, I made others but the alien creatures destroyed them because of their numbers. These I will make as big as the alien creatures and have them all attack at the same time.”

Still standing at the very back of the cave, she began waving her hands, as though she was swooshing something outside. I watched as hundreds of toys closest to the cave opening began to twitch and move. Dolls began to sit up and look around while the animal toys bolted up on all fours. As if they had suddenly become aware, they began their march outward. As the toys exited, their sizes began to grow 10 to 15 feet tall as they reached the edge of the ledge where they dropped over the side.

The dolls and toy animals did not have a chance to fall, for as soon as they stepped over the edge, they grew to enormous heights. They began to march toward the forest, every toy animal imaginable was in the mix, including dolls of all types: Barbie’s, Raggedy Ann’s, toy soldiers and every other doll I had ever seen.

Exiting the cave, the other toys came to life in sequence. So many covered the floor, after it seemed hundreds or even thousands had left, not a dent had been made in the number that remained, waiting their turn. Outside in the desert, there were so many and so packed due to their great size, they covered the land. I stood there and watched, between the toys coming to life and the ones that had already made it to the edge of the forest, and woke up soon after.

It’s all about Balance.

Although this is a short dream, the total breakdown and meanings were over two pages long. Simply put, the dream signifies balance and how I am nowhere near it in my life at present. I have too much work, not enough time, leisure and relaxation, which is not what I want but what I have to settle for. This dream reveals transformations of who I am and who I want to be. It’s all about balance.
The crane in the dream is a symbol of my occupation and bringing my work home; also, any lift a crane makes has to be balanced. My world is being made up of dualities and opposites, as in light and dark, heaven and hell, yin and yang, etc. Right now, it all seems to be broken.

Sunday, October 19, 2014; Unconscious dreaming

I was in my living room doing some writing when a noise came from outside the west window. After some time, the window began to rattle from the commotion of something getting closer. I laid down my writing material and walked to window and looked out. A large crawler crane, specifically a Manitowoc (a brand of crane) was moving from my backyard to the front. A crew of four men surrounded the crane as it traveled, two from behind and two up front holding onto tag-lines that were fastened to the crane’s load.

On the end of the hook, the crane carried two cylinders about 40 feet long and 10 feet in diameter. As the crane slowly traveled past my window, I noticed that the upper body of the crane was broken away from the car body. How the entire structure did not topple over and come crashing to the ground I could not understand. My gaze followed the crane and crew as they made their way to the front of my house. I left the living room and proceeded out through the front door to see where it was headed.

An area in the middle of the yard had been marked off, obviously the resting place for the crane and its load. I stepped onto the porch and wandered over to the area to watch the progress. Just as the crane was entering the area, I happened to notice a mother rabbit giving birth to the last of four kits. Fearing they would be crushed, I rushed over and scooped up the four kits still wet and bloody. To my surprise, they transformed into newly born kittens; they had to be moved. I rushed over to some out-of-the-way hedges and placed them deep inside the foliage. As I released them, they transformed back into kits.

I looked over to where the mother had been giving birth to them and saw she also had transformed into a cat. She was eager to get to her babies, but I stood in the way. I stepped back several feet giving her room. She quickly dashed in the direction in which I had laid the babies. On the last few feet, she leapt into the air transforming back into a rabbit. She landed on the edge of the bush and quickly darted underneath to her kits. I turned back to the work in progress and noticed that the crane was in place, the load landed and secured, and all the crew had gone.
